Course Description

Advancing your credential to include the licensure exam is an excellent way to foster professional development. This course will review prevention concepts and offer basic test prep for those planning to advance from OCPSA to OPCS. We will explain how to apply for the test and offer some practice questions and tools.

Meet Your Presenter

 

Ashley Garcia, LISW-S, OCPC has been the Prevention Program Supervisor for Alcohol and Drug Services at Columbus Public Health since 2016. She supervises a team of 7 Prevention Coordinators under ADAMH grant-funded, school-based and community prevention programs that target at-risk populations in Columbus, specifically those impacted by family substance use. Ashley is responsible for implementing program curriculums to fidelity and fostering relationships with community partners. In recent years, she has focused on increasing youth-led prevention opportunities at the Health Department, including creating pathways into the prevention field for those who completed their prevention programs as youth.

Ashley spent 3 years with CPH as a Prevention Coordinator and is passionate about empowering others through education that fosters resiliency. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University and a Masters of Social Work from The Ohio State University. Ashley is the recipient of the 2023 Ohio Prevention Professionals Association Community Champion Award. As a Prevention Consultant she hopes to advance the field of prevention through education, mentoring, and workforce development.

  • Attendance Requirements
    • Participants must submit an individual registration in ScarletCanvas to receive CE credit.
    • You will receive your Zoom webinar/meeting link one (1) business day prior to the training. Please do not share this link with anyone, it is unique to you.
    • You must attend the full session to receive credit. Partial credit will not be awarded, with no exceptions.
      • Your attendance will be automatically recorded by Zoom upon your arrival to and departure from the webinar.
    • Participants must meet all course requirements as listed on the home page course task list.
  • Evaluation, Certificate, & Reporting
    • Eligible participants will receive an email announcement within five (5) business days of the training end date indicating access to the course evaluation/feedback survey has been opened.
    • Once your evaluation/feedback survey is submitted, ScarletCanvas-Catalog will generate your CE certificate/certificate of attendance for download and/or print
    • CE hours will be reported to CE Broker within 30-days for OCSWMFTB licensees who provide their full license numbers with their course evaluation/feedback survey.
