Course Description

This training is designed for individuals who want to challenge themselves to better support their staff and clients using a multicultural perspective. It will require active participation and a willingness to increase self-awareness. Participants will also work together to identify aspects of privilege and bias and identify ways and techniques to address these issues in the supervisory relationship. Lastly, participants will look at developing an individual plan to continue their multicultural development from a personal and professional standpoint.

Learning Objectives

• Self-identify aspects of implicit bias in your work as a supervisor.
• Identify at least one activity or technique to use in understanding intersections between you and your supervisee as well as between your supervisee and their client.
• Develop a personal plan of increasing your awareness, knowledge and/or skill in managing bias and privilege.

• Attendance Requirements
  • Participants must submit an individual registration in ScarletCanvas to receive CE credit.
    • You will receive your Zoom webinar link one (1) business day prior to the training. Please do not share this link with anyone, it is unique to you.
  • You must attend the full session to receive credit. Partial credit will not be awarded, with no exceptions.
    • Your attendance will be automatically recorded by Zoom upon your arrival to and departure from the meeting/webinar.
  • Participants must meet all course requirements as listed on the home page course task list.
• Evaluation, Certificate, & Reporting
  • Eligible participants will receive an email announcement within five (5) business days of the training end date indicating access to the course evaluation/feedback survey has been opened.
  • Once your evaluation/feedback survey is submitted, ScarletCanvas-Catalog will generate your CE certificate/certificate of attendance for download and/or print
  • CE hours will be reported to CE Broker within 30-days for OCSWMFTB and OCDP licensees who provide their full license numbers with their course evaluation/feedback survey.

The Ohio State University College of Social Work, (Provider: 1628), is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. OSU College of Social Work maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 4/30/22-4/30/25. Social workers completing this course receive three (3) SUPERVISION continuing education credits.

    • Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge do not seem to be compatible.
    • If you experience issues with the CAPTCHA (I’m not a robot verification) upon registration, we have found it resolves itself when using a current Chrome browser.
• Set up messages from Instructure/ScarletCanvas-Catalog at notifications@instructure.com as a trusted/whitelisted email address in your email contacts, so that our messages/announcements aren't routed to your Junk/Spam folder.
