About this Course

Coach Beyond is a coach training program developed by LiFEsports at The Ohio State University. Coach Beyond, in partnership with the Ohio High School Athletic Association, is working to change the landscape of coach training in Ohio. Coach Beyond is a series of coach education sessions, tools and resources designed to ensure Ohio’s coaches are ready to “coach beyond...”

• MISSION: To prepare youth for life and leadership through sports. 
• VISION: To be the national exemplar in sport-based positive youth development programming. 
• VALUE PROPOSITION: Provide coach-specific professional development to Ohio's school and community-based youth sport coaches to support youth on and off the playing field. 

This training is designed to support coaches in learning how to promote positive behavior and engagement (PBIS) in sports. Specifically, coaches will examine the factors that contribute to behavior, learn strategies that promote positive behaviors, and better understand the Ohio PBIS policy.

Targeted audiences: Coaches, athletic directors, educators, youth workers, and other adults working with young people. This version of the course is not approved for Social Work CE credit (clock hours).
