Course Description

This free, 2-hour training features one module with an edited recording of a live CareLine Development training that was recorded as a Zoom Webinar on May 27th, 2021.

During the pandemic, about 4 in 10 adults in the U.S. have reported symptoms of anxiety or depressive disorder, a share that has been largely consistent, up from one in ten adults who reported these symptoms from January to June 2019 (Panchel, et. al. 2021). Many of us can relate to anecdotally receiving the calls from individuals who report being in distress, having increased anxiety and its related symptoms including panic attacks. This training provides to those working the Help Lines practical guidance to offer support and coaching to callers dealing with anxiety.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify some of the key signs and symptoms of anxiety.
  • Identify at least 3 interventions they can offer on phone lines to coach and support callers dealing with anxiety.

Continuing Education Classifications
