Course Description

Racial trauma, a continuing consequence of historical trauma, has rendered an excessive adverse impact in African American communities. Prior research has revealed a correlation between racism and trauma. This workshop examines the relationship between exposure to racial trauma and maladaptive behaviors. The purpose of this workshop is to provide tools for clinicians working with African American individuals, families, and communities by utilizing culturally specific and evidence-based practices to identify and address racial trauma. Participants of this workshop can expect an interactive experience coupled with an authentic, warm, and safe place to discuss racial trauma.

• Evaluation, Certificate, & Reporting
  • Eligible participants will receive an email announcement within five (5) business days of the training end date indicating access to the course evaluation/feedback survey has been opened.
  • Once your evaluation/feedback survey is submitted, ScarletCanvas-Catalog will generate your CE certificate/certificate of attendance for download and/or print
  • CE hours will be reported to CE Broker within 30-days for OCSWMFTB and OCDP licensees who provide their full license numbers with their course evaluation/feedback survey.

State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit.
