About this Course

The Age-Friendly Innovation Center (AFIC) at the Ohio State University College of Social Work has partnered with local and national experts to create an online training that provides the opportunity for participants to earn a Leadership in Age-Friendly Communities Certificate, signifying competency in the foundational tenets of creating an age-friendly community. The Certificate will maximize the impact of Age-Friendly Communities by creating a standardized educational curriculum that includes the best evidence available about creating Age-Friendly communities on a platform that is accessible anywhere in the world. This course is designed to further information presented in Course 1 on the topic of focus groups and further explore how to design, run, and analyze these type of groups. 

Targeted audiences: Individuals interested in learning about, entering, or working in the World Health Organization and AARP Livable Communities Network. The course is built to be accessible to individuals from all professional backgrounds and disciplines.

Course Format

This course is asynchronous and can be completed at your own pace.

This course has rolling enrollment. Begin any day after the posted start date and finish at your own pace by the posted end date.

No Required Live Sessions

Participants will receive documentation for the successful completion of this course. No university credit will be earned. Additionally, this course has NOT been approved for continuing education.
