Q: Should I sign up for the Leadership or Human Service Provider (Clinical) Track?
A: The Leadership Track is for those in executive positions who may not necessarily provide direct client services i.e. CEOs, directors, agency presidents. The Human Service Provider (Clinical) Track is for practitioners who are more likely to provide direct client services, such as social workers, counselors, case workers, and prevention and treatment professionals.

To note, all are welcome to attend sessions for either track regardless of direct service or leadership status.

The challenges facing contemporary leaders require intentional, values-based approaches to facilitate the changes in systems that will benefit multicultural and diverse communities. The prosocial leadership approach will engage leaders in interactive processes to identify shared values, collective strengths, and strategies to address barriers and threats to the organizations they lead.

This will be a highly interactive workshop involving a values exercise, and baseline assessments for cultural competency and inclusive leadership behaviors. The proposed outcomes are shared values to guide the challenges faced as leaders and the identification of strategies to increase inclusion and a sense of belonging for stakeholders.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize and agree upon shared values to lead organizations in times of change
  • Assess inclusive leadership practices necessary to advance DEIB
  • Assess individual cultural competency
  • Identify organizational strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats
  • Plan for action by identifying two strategies for individual and systems change
