Course Description

The public health model mirrors that of the strategic prevention framework. Understanding that we as shared professionals are both guided by health principles to prevent health disparities and increase dimensions of wellness we must work together.

This course will highlight the eight (8) dimensions of wellness, the public health model, and review common health disparities that impact all communities. Further, we will highlight policy projects that have shown cross-collaboration in public health and prevention with the Tobacco 21 and Clear the Air Youth Led Project. Change comes from multiple systems and we must understand social and cultural norms as they impact the policies we work to create to ensure environmental change.

This course is the ninth in our eleven-part prevention training series. We are happy to offer a 10% discount to those who register for the full series here: Prevention Training Series 2022
