About this Course
Welcome to Introduction to Working with Older Adults and Caregivers. Through this course, you will gain perspectives, knowledge, and skills for working with older adults and their informal caregivers in a variety of settings (e.g., communities, long-term care facilities, hospitals). You will develop a general understanding of population aging, ageism, and the diversity of older adults. Building on the foundational knowledge in aging, you will have opportunities to familiarize yourself with assessment tools and local resources that enhance the cognitive, mental, and social well-being of older adults and caregivers. Regardless of your field of interest, you can gain meaningful insight on providing end-of-life care and bereavement support to families in various contexts. We hope you enjoy the process of learning, reflecting, and applying in this course.
Targeted audiences: Individuals interested in learning about or working with older adults and caregivers. The course is built to be accessible to individuals from all professional backgrounds and disciplines.
