Course Description 

This free, 2.75-hour training features one module with an edited recording of a live 988 & CareLine Development Training Series session that was first held as a Zoom Webinar on October 21st, 2022. 

This training will provide basic knowledge of the 6 types of panic disorders, which include anxiety disorders, phobias and more. Learn the symptoms, causes and effects of panic attacks and anxiety and ways that one can be supportive over the phone and in-person during an episode.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain the 6 types of panic disorders as defined in the DSM-5: describe symptoms, causes, and effects.
  • Describe the differences between panic attacks and anxiety.
  • Provide techniques that can be used for call line workers and in-person responders to aid in supporting a person who is actively dealing with anxiety and/or panic attacks.

Continuing Education Information

Effective January 18, 2024, the new classifications for this course are as follows:

  • Course Format & Completion Requirements
    • This course is asynchronous with one module created from a recording of a live training. 
  • Certificate & Reporting 
    • Once your evaluation/feedback survey is submitted, ScarletCanvas-Catalog will generate your CE certificate/certificate of attendance for download and/or print
    • CE hours will be reported to CE Broker within 14 business days for active and eligible OCSWMFTB and OCDPB licensees who provide their full license number(s) with their course evaluation/feedback survey.

  • If you are licensed by The State of Ohio CSWMFT and CDP Boards, please be sure to enter your full license number in the Professional License Information field upon registration and when completing the training evaluation.
